Overview
Two rows of balls on a common spherical raceway accommodate misalignment while running cool at speed.
Self-aligning ball bearings have two rows of balls and a common sphered raceway in the outer ring. The inner ring, balls and cage can swivel relative to the outer ring, so the bearing tolerates misalignment caused by shaft deflection or mounting errors.
They have the lowest friction of all rolling bearings, which keeps them cool at high speeds. Versions with a tapered bore (K) mount quickly on adapter sleeves on plain shafts.
