Angular Contact Ball Bearings

Built for combined loads and precise shaft location.

Overview

Offset raceways create a contact angle for high axial capacity in one direction, alongside radial load.

In an angular contact ball bearing the inner and outer ring raceways are displaced relative to each other along the bearing axis. This creates a contact angle, commonly 40° (B) or 25° (AC), that lets the bearing carry heavy axial loads in one direction together with radial loads.

Single-row bearings are usually mounted in pairs (back-to-back, face-to-face or tandem) to take axial loads in both directions. Double-row designs in the 32 and 33 series do this in a single compact unit.

Key features

  • High axial load capacity in one direction
  • 40° (B) and 25° (AC) contact angles
  • Universally matchable for DB, DF and DT pairs
  • Double-row versions for two-way axial loads
